Altitude Information

Most likely Acute Mountain Sickness symptoms could be appear anywhere attitude above 2500 m or beyond the tree line. But it depend on traveler physical fitness if trekkers are fit enough for that atmosphere will not face altitude issues yet all. Relatively oxygen percentage drop down above tree line then starts to see some stranger issues on the body which would be primary signs of altitude sickness like, fatigue, loss appetite, vomiting sensation, insomnia might have headache as well as feel different on breath as well. We suggest you drink more fluid along your journey. Once early high altitude symptoms seen in body should not ascend up and take rest at same places or descend couple of hundred down until that symptoms left. Even after resting at same elevation if symptom getting worse then should descend lower elevation. Poorer altitude indications is strong headache, often feel to vomiting then might unconscious or blackout which would be high altitude cerebral edema (HACE) or high altitude pulmonary edema (HAPE). HACE and HAPE attack on both brain and lung.

How To Prevent from Altitude Illness

  • Take it easy and be confident wherever you are
  • Drink enough fluid more then 3 liter water each day
  • Acclimate at a lower altitude then ascend slowly
  • Climb maximum 500 m (1640ft) a day above 3000 meters
  • Take Diamox
  • Avoid alcohol/smoke
  • Stay Warm Cold Places

Treatment of High Altitude

  • Descend down at least 500 meter
  • Contact to doctor if possible
  • If HACE or HAPE symptom seen on patient then take to nearest hospital
  • Check Oxygen level, if oxygen level is low give oxygen to patient
