Upper Dolpo Trek

Upper Dolpo Trek spread throughout Shey Phoksudo National Park an area of 3,555 sq km in Dolpa and Mugu district in Nepal. The challenging Upper Dolpo trek will do Midwestern Nepal on wilderness landscapes near to Tibet plateau. While continuous trek you will trek over tough trekking passes Numa La (5,200 m) and Baga La (5,090 m). Shey Phoksundo Tal, Shey gompa, unspoiled Dolpani culture, unmatched landscapes and Himalaya vista are the main feature key of Upper Dolpo Trek. There pure rare cultural like shamanistic, monks living in cave and last rights feeding death body to vulture only culture you can witness in Dolpo. The world did know more about Dolpo after French movies maker Eric Vallies made classical Himalayan movies called “Caravan”. You will see more Tibetan culture influence in Dolpo area because they do exchange marriage and business with Tibetan people.

Dolpo trek will starts from Kathmandu with scenic flight to south western Nepal know as Terai (Flat Plain) then next day fly from Nepalgunj to Jhupal after that trek continuous on rain shadow territory of Nepal with unparalleled scenery of landscapes, turquoise lake, unique culture, Buddhist monastery, chorten, stupa and striking Himalayan views. You will ascend to more than 5,000 m passes then descend to Dunai and fly back to Nepalgunj and Kathmandu.
