Langtang Valley Trek

Langtang valley trek is short and easy trekking route near by north of Kathmandu valley. The trekking route is rich of nature and culture with high langtang Himalayan range and great valley.

En route of Langtang valley trek it shown up you lovely green forest, deep gorge of high rocky formations, flavor of Buddhism (monasteries, stupas and praying flags), stunning extent waterfall and breath taking langtang Himalayan range with awesome sunrise and sunset view. As trek continuous crossing suspension and wooden bridge many times and encountering wild animals while trekking in the forest. Entire langtang valley trekking trail goes light climbing up into the dense forest and villages of Tibetan tamang and Sherpas with their mountains life style. Maximum height, where you will spend overnight will be (3,870 m/12,696 Ft) thats why we advise you can to this trek with your family (kids or parents) as well and without any doubted any body can make it family holidays. The traverse will be mesmerized to see enthralling hidden culture of langtang region. The langtang village is washed out on 2015 April earthquake. More than 300 people were died on 25 April. Surviving family member running temporary lodge and guesthouse for tourist and every morning and evening praying to god rest and peace for their soul. The trek starts from Kathmandu with 7 hours scenic drive to Syabrubesi. Next morning voyage continuous and crossing couple of suspension bridge with passing teashop/local restaurant along trekking trail into Langtang national park. The gradual trail ascending up with enchanting cultural excursion and spectaculars sceneries and spending overnight at Lama hotel at mid of jungle, Langtang village then finally reach at Kyanjing Gompa at foot of Langtang Himalayan range. You will do day hike around the valley regarding to your physical fitness. From any of three viewpoints Kyanjing Ri (4,630 m), Tsergo Ri (4,980 m) and Langshisha Kharka (4,084 m), will have striking view of Himalayas including Langtang Ri (7,205 m), Langtang Lirung (7,234 m), Marimato (6,150 m), Langshisha Ri (6,427 m), Chanbu (6,781 m), Dorje Lakpa (6,966 m) etc. The side trip will make your entire journey meaning full then retrace Ghodatabela, Bamboo then sturdy climb up to charming tamang village Thulo Syabru.

Then next morning drive back to Kathmandu with great memories of Langtang valley trek.

Day 01: Arrive at Kathmandu (1,350 m/4,429 Ft & 7hrs drive)

Upon arrive at Tribhuvan international airport Kathmandu anytime, our airport representative waiting you at arrival gate with your name on placards. Upon receive you welcome and transfer to hotel. We do not have any official activities for today but as time permits look around the commercial Thamel & colorful local market, Ason.

Day 02: Sightseeing around Kathmandu valley

Kathmandu valley is also attraction of any Nepal trip heaviest attention of heritage sites, the valley have few heritage sites which also listed in the UNESCO world Heritages sites. Your Kathmandu valley cultural tour let you explore fours heritage site including temple of lord shiva which is known as Pashupatinath temple. Pashpatinath temple is considered as largest Hindu shrine in Nepal and the Hindu cremation ritual take a places on bank of holy Bagmati River. Then the ascetic (holy man) can be seen east bank of the river on the temple. Entire Pashupatinath complex have beautiful stone carved as well finest wood carved on the temple. Bouddhanath stupa is largest Buddhist stupa in the Nepal, which set on east side of valley and mostly occupied by Tibetan tribes including Tibetan refugee. Around the white stupa have verities of Tibetan handicraft and the devotees also taking circuit as well as prostrations. Swayambhunath complex is located atop midst of the Kathmandu, the complex is important for both Hindu and Buddhist people. Finale destination visiting Kathmandu durbar square, most famous durbar square located nearby Thamel. It is huge complex with old buildings, Hindu temple from medieval period. The building have master piece Nepalese architecture including wood crafting, stone sculpture on windows and doors. From here walk back to hotel with passing colorful Ason bazaar.

Day 03: 7 hours drive to Syabrubesi (1,560 m/5,116 Ft)

We departure from hotel after breakfast to the bus station then drive begins at 07:30 am. The drive through the northern hills of Kathmandu on the Pasang lamu highway. You will have enjoy able bus ride which also provides magnificent landscape of the paddies field and Himalayas. The bus stop several places for toilet for the Nepalese lunch at Batar. After lunch drive resume passing through commercial village Kalikasthan, Dunche then finally arrived at Syabrubeshi.

Day 04: 6 hours trek to Lama Hotel (2,240 m/7,437 Ft)

We have gentle up trek, walking across the pristine forest with passing several teashops. Throughout day trekking inside the forest even crossing the saggy suspension bridges on the Langtang River. First day trek have sights wild bee hive, hot spring, waterfall and also spot langur monkey. We stopping at Lama hotel for overnight in midst of the jungle.

Day 05: 6 hours trek to Langtang Village (3,450 m/11,316 Ft)

Another beautiful trek day you will have trek experience walking into the flowering forest and alpine valley. So first segment of trek is gentle climbing up into the pine and rhododendron forest where maximum chance to spot animals and birds. Even passing the army check point who is guarding flora and fauna of Langtang national park. From Thangsyep village trekking beyond the vegetation on potatoes farm and the settlements. These area is washed out by devastating earthquake in 2015. Mostly Buddhist people live around here where never scarified animals on the narrow valley.

Day 06: 4 hours trek to Kyanjin Gompa (3,870 m/12,697 Ft)

We have easy trek day from Langtang village to Kyanjing Gomba, we follow trail on the short shrubs where can see yak pasturing. On way to Kyanjing Kharka we also pass the typical Sherpa village like Mundu and few tea shops. The route is decorate with long engraved mani-wall, Buddhist flags and the white painted stupa before reaching Kyanjing can see branch trail leading to Ganja la Pass and Naya Kanga Peak. You have sights of Tsergo ri, Ganchempo and Langtang lirung upon arrival at Kyanjing Gompa then later on visiting cheese factory which was established in 1954 under the Swiss technology.

Day 07: Day Trip from Kyanjing Gomba

Today we will do side trip as your interest. We have a few option for day hike, all the day hike destination will offers spectacular view of Himalayan range. Kyajning Gompa last settlement of Sherpa and Tamang ethnic group in Langtang national park, the village in laying at midst of valley with approaching exceptional view of Himalayas. From Kyanjing village you can do side trip to Langshisha Kharka, Tserko Ri and Kyanging Ri. If you confusion yourself which one should do after Kyanjing Gomba, please read below explanation and then decide yourself.

Tsergo Ri (5,000 m/16,400 Ft)

The most beautiful viewpoint in Langtang valley with accepting huge strenuous uphill ascend in a day. The unbelievable day trip to Tserko La will definitely give you great trek experience and provides 360 degree Mountain View surrounding peak including border Himalayas like Mt. Shishapangma. 1150 m ascending from guesthouse to Tserko Ri took minimum 4 hrs trek on absolutely stranger terrain with the loose pebble trail, frozen wooden bridge in early morning, slippery mud, Sea buck thorny shrubs, icy trail and strenuous zig-zag uphill climb on into the thin air. The altitude, trail and topography might stop your journey on way but the Mother Nature scenery will keep push you up, as you climb further up on the parallel ridge, huge and closer view of Himalayan see with Langtang valley even see trekking trail leading over Ganja La pass. Last section of rocky trail often cover by snow and strong windy all the way to summit. The summit is as usual decorated by Buddhist flags with together stone chhorten. Do not forget to leave with sufficient drinks and food for your day trip.

Kyanjing Ri (4,820 m/15,809 Ft)

It is easy day hike compare among the other side trip with approach close view of Langtang Lirung glacier. It is steep up trek from Kyanjing gompa to Kyamjing La with gaining 1,000 m in between 2-3 hrs uphill trek on the pebble ridge. As we begins hike from village straight way ascending continuous on yak grazing pasture with get picturesque view of Kyangjing village. while trek on physical demanding up very first we arrive at huge rocky boulder with hanging some colorful flags and chhorter that local way pray to god. Then trek resume again climbing up on the ridge with get grand view of valley and mountain on back drop to Kyanjing Ri. As soon as arrive summit of Kyanjing Ri, get close-up scenario of blue glacier rolling down from pinnacle of the Langtang Lirung and the glacier create beautiful glacier lake at bottom.

Langshisha Kharka (4,100 m/13,448 Ft)

Day trip to Langshisha Kharka (shed) is easy hiking along on bank of Langtang Khola but long way fro and go. Langshisha Kharka laying at bottom of Langshisha Ri on the panoramic meadow where can see yak grazing from June to October. This shed is beyond the valley and mountains local believe home for yeti and snow-leopards. As it is a flatten trail gaining 350 m from guesthouse to Langshisha Kharka trek but it offers exceptional view of nature. The rugged and scree trail come cross over the wooden bridge on the canyon and High Mountains all the direction. While walking along reverse of river suddenly appears manifest and painted stone on small summit with blowing pray flags tied on pole, it is mark of Langshisha Kharka on shade of Shishapmang and Ganchhenpo peak. We probably see tented camp near to point where climber preparing to climb Langshisha Ri and incisive the snow leopard. As we taken lunch with us from guesthouse make a lunch break on summer shed of yak then trance back to guesthouse.

Day 08: 7 hours trek to Rimche (2,200 m/7,216 Ft)

We retrace descend passing through the Langtang village and walk through the beautiful dense forest reaching to Rimche.

Day 09: Rimche to Syabru Village (2,245 m/7,365 Ft & 5-6hrs trek)

From Lama hotel descend through out beautiful jungle passing Bamboo and Pairo (landslide) then zigzag climb up to ridge. Then after crossing a suspension bridge short up will bring you Syabru village, a beautiful tamang village set on ridge on single row with Buddhist flavor. Most of guesthouse and local houses has beautiful tamang architecture woodcarving.

Day 10: 6 hours trek Thulo Syabru to Dhunche (1,920 m/6,6299 Ft)

After breakfast trek lead south of village into the dense rhododendron forest, the entire forest will be colorful in spring by flowering rhododendron. We will pass tiny and typical tamang village with their organic potatoes farm. Descend to Barkhu after lunch trek along the high way to Dunche.

Day 11: 6 hours drive to Kathmandu (1,350 m/4,428 Ft

The bus departure 07:00 hours in the morning and have delightful breakfast before that. It is 6 hours' drive to Kathmandu on the Lhasang Lhamu highway, the road often get busy because now Nepal importing goods from china via Rasuwagadi customs. The drive also provides spectacular mountains view and the Trishuli valley from the Kaliskathan. Upon arrival at Kathmandu bus station transfer to hotel then enjoy yourself at Thamel.

Day 12: Deparutre

Your week long Nepal journey ending today with us. Hope you had memorial time with us in the Himalayas. Musical adventure trekking staff will escort you to the Tribhuvan international airport around 3 hours before your flight scheduled.
