Langtang Helambu Trek

The 2 weeks length Langtang Helambu trek is combine’s trek of Langtang valley and Helambu circuit trek. Langtang helambu trekking spread into the Langtang national in Rasuwa, Nuwakot and Sindhupalchowk districts.

This trek gives you beautiful trekking experience through the village with encountering exciting indigenous tribes culture, amazing landscapes of cultivate farm and valley, lovey rhododendron, bamboo, fine forest where plenty of faun and flora lives. Boulder valley with towing high Himalayan range namely Langtang Ri (7,205), Langtang Lirung (7,234 m), Dorje Lhakpa (6,966 m) Changbu (6,781 m), Yala Peak (5,520 m), Gangchenpo (6,387 m) and numerous other peaks. The shining sloppy Langtang lirung glacier will dominate entire valley. The pristine Gosaikund Lake is important for both Hindus and Buddhist, yearly so many pilgrimage trek to sacred lake to take bath and washed out the sins. Day 01: Arrive at Kathmandu (1,350 m/4,429 Ft & 7hrs drive)

Our official airport representative will be at arrival gate with your name is signboard. S/he will transfer you at hotel. While driving to hotel s/he will give short brief of Kathmandu.

Day 02: Sightseeing around Kathmandu valley

Your guided tour will start at 9 am and your guide will take you around the Kathmandu.

Pashupatinath Temple: The holy places of Hindus, where Hindus do cremate of death. The holy Bagmati River follows across the midst of the Pashupatinath temple.

Bouddhanath Stupa: One of the largest Buddhist stupa in Kathmandu valley. The color of stupa dominates the skylines. Swayambhunath Temple: The viewpoint in middle of Kathmandu valley. Swayambhunath is model of religious unity of Hinduism and Buddhism where you will see temple and monastery.

Kathmandu Durbarsquare: The square used be Royal palace and surrounded by many temples. We will visit house of living goddess and get bliss from her. The entire complex is witness of newari architecture from 15/16 century.

At 5pm meeting with your trek leader/guide on pre-trek discussion. Then if you need to buy anything’s for your trek. Your guide will take you in the shop.

Day 03: Kathmandu to Syabrubesi (1,560 m/ 5,116 Ft & 7 hrs drive)

The drive through the northern hills of Kathmandu on the Pasang lamu highway enjoying the Himalayan views of Langtang and Ganesh Himal range with beautiful landscape and lifestyle of rural village. We will stop for lunch at Trishuli, which is half way of the drive. Then drive continues passing Kalikasthan, Dunche then descending to Syabrubesi.

Day 04: Trek from Syabrubesi to Sherpagaun (1,920 m/6,297 Ft & 6-7 hrs trek)

First day of our Langtang and Helambu trek first ascend to Khanjung village then descend throughout animal grazing pasture to Sherpa gaon with following small pebble and rocky trail. We leave from guesthouse after breakfast, once leave Kathmandu to Kerung highway trek over the swinging suspension bridge then steep climb-up through traditional tamang village and pass teashop. As we walked 500 mtrs above the deep canyon to beautiful Khangjung village where Tamang heritage trekking route meet-up with Langtang valley trekking trail. The picturesque traditional village presence impressive tamang culture glance and superb Mountain View of Ganesh himal with exclusive landscapes. After short break again ascend to Badgaon ridge, it presence great view of Shyabru beshi and Shyabru village on east bank of Langtang river with Lauribunaya la. Now, we follow descend trail to Sherpagaun on sheep meadow and farmland. The tiny village of Sherpa and tamang has great hospitality for guesthouse.

Day 05: Trek from Sherpagaun to Langtang Village (3,450 m/11,316 Ft & 6-7 hrs trek)

We follow ancient trail of Langtang valley which used to be very famous and busy before lower trail (Syabrubeshi-Bamboo-Lama hotel) explored. It is the old trading trail as well local used to use this route to go at Kerung border to buy goods for home. The gentle trail lead us to Ramche then short trek on stone-case to Lama Hotel at midst of forest. Again trek climb up in the forest with get great sights of mountain, waterfall and landslide scenery, we pass thick bamboo forest often see red panda grazing in shrubs. After 3 hrs walk into the forest and canyon of boulder finally arrive at open grassy meadow at Ghodatabela. From here trek upward on big valley with see sights of snow peak. Then follow the flatten path with encountering yaks in the meadow to Thankshep. From Thankshep to Langtang village is totally moraine after the valley was washed out by 2015 earthquake. Remaining native settling their live in langtang with running home-stay.

Day 06: Trek from Langtang Village to Kyanjin Gompa (3,870 m/12,697 Ft & 3-4hrs trek)

As usual we departure after breakfast from Langtang village, the gradual up trail continuous on yak grazing meadow with get panoramic view of langtang Himalayan range and frozen glacier. As soon as arrive at highest living settlement of Langtang national, Kyanjing Gomba, the village is located midst of valley with surrounded by great rugged snowy peak namely Dorje Larpa (6,990 m), Langtang Ri (6,370 m), Langtang Lirung (,7245 m), Genchhenpo and Yala Peak (5,520 m). The small monastery at the village is resemble of Buddhism where local practice their religion. The villager are doing community yak farm and using milk for product the yak cheese, the organic and hygienic cheese products under Swiss technology at Kyanjing Gompa cheese factory.

Day 07:  Day Trip

Today we will do side trip as your interest. We have a few option for day hike, all the day hike destination will offers spectacular view of Himalayan range. Kyajning Gompa last settlement of Sherpa and Tamang ethnic group in Langtang national park, the village in laying at midst of valley with approaching exceptional view of Himalayas. From Kyanjing village you can do side trip to Langshisha Kharka, Tserko Ri and Kyanging Ri. If you confusion yourself which one should do after Kyanjing Gomba, please read below explanation and then decide yourself.

Tserko Ri (5,000 m/16,400 Ft)

The most beautiful viewpoint in Langtang valley with accepting huge strenuous uphill ascend in a day. The unbelievable day trip to Tserko La will definitely give you great trek experience and provides 360 degree Mountain View surrounding summit of peak including border Himalayas like Mt. Shishapangma. 1150 m ascending from guesthouse to Tserko Ri took minimum 4 hrs trek on absolutely stranger terrain with the loose pebble trail, frozen wooden bridge in early morning, slippery mud, Sea buck thorny shrubs, icy trail and strenuous zig-zag uphill climb on into the thin air. The altitude, trail and topography might stop your journey on way but the Mother Nature scenery will keep push you up, as you climb further up on the parallel ridge, huge and closer view of Himalayan see with Langtang valley even see trekking trail leading over Ganja La pass. Last section of rocky trail often cover by snow and strong windy all the way to summit. The summit is as usual decorated by Buddhist flags with together stone chhorten. Do not forget to leave with sufficient drinks and food for your day trip.

Kyanjing Ri (4,820 m/15,809 Ft)

It is easy day hike compare among the other side trip with approach close view of Langtang Lirung glacier. It is steep up trek from Kyanjing gompa to Kyamjing La with gaining 1,000 m in between 2-3 hrs uphill trek on the pebble ridge. As we begins hike from village straight way ascending continuous on yak grazing pasture with get picturesque view of Kyangjing village. while trek on physical demanding up very first we arrive at huge rocky boulder with hanging some colorful flags and chhorter that local way pray to god. Then trek resume again climbing up on the ridge with get grand view of valley and mountain on back drop to Kyanjing Ri. As soon as arrive summit of Kyanjing Ri, get close-up scenario of blue glacier rolling down from pinnacle of the Langtang Lirung and the glacier create beautiful glacier lake at bottom.

Langshisha Kharka (4,100 m/13,448 Ft)

Day trip to Langshisha Kharka (shed) is easy hiking along on bank of Langtang Khola but long way fro and go. Langshisha Kharka laying at bottom of Langshisha Ri on the panoramic meadow where can see yak grazing from June to October. This shed is beyond the valley and mountains local believe home for yeti and snow-leopards. As it is a flatten trail gaining 350 m from guesthouse to Langshisha Kharka trek but it offers exceptional view of nature. The rugged and scree trail come cross over the wooden bridge on the canyon and High Mountains all the direction. While walking along reverse of river suddenly appears manifest and painted stone on small summit with blowing pray flags tied on pole, it is mark of Langshisha Kharka on shade of Shishapmang and Ganchhenpo peak. We probably see tented camp near to point where climber preparing to climb Langshisha Ri and incisive the snow leopard. As we taken lunch with us from guesthouse make a lunch break on summer shed of yak then trance back to guesthouse.

Day 08: Trek from Kyangjin Gompa to Lama Hotel (2,240 m/7,350 Ft & 6-7 hrs trek)

Today we are walking down back to Lama Hotel for a night. From Kyanjing gomba to Thangshep we have gentle descend on panoramic canyon with meeting the yak grazing on the pasture. After that again walk down throughout the huge pine and rhododendron forest on dirt path to Lama hotel.

Day 09: Trek from Lama Hotel to Syabru Village (2,245 m/7,365 Ft & 5-6 hrs trek)

The pebble and scree trail descend into the forest from Lama hotel to Pairo with passing tradition tamang hut (tea shop) along the way. The mix vegetation forest is inhabitants of various species of the birds. Once we pass the Pairo path climb uphill with crossing longest suspension bridge of the trek. In autumn season can see mariwana plant round here then finally arrive typical cluster house setting Syabru village inhabitants by largest indigenous group of Nepal called "Tamang". Before get dark see fiery sunset on sacred Ganesh Himal Mountain.

Day 10:  Trek from Thulo Syabru to Cholang Parti (3,560 m/11,676 Ft & 5-6 hrs trek)

The trail led throughout Syabru village on north direction with ascending up on farm territory and forest of huge trees. We are climbing up thru day with dramatic view of landscapes, valley and mountains.

Day 11: Trek from Cholang Party to Gosaikunda (4,380 m/14,366 Ft & 6-7 hrs trek)

The bus departure around 7 am from Dunche, scenic drive will takes 6hrs to arrive Kathmandu. You will often see Himalayan range along the drive. Then evening have farewell dinner with your trekking crew and gratitude them.

Gosaikund Lake:

A sacred freshwater lake laying at height of 4,350 m above the sea level in midst of Langtang National. Hinduism believed Gosaikund Lake is one of the important lake regarding to their holy book GEETA and RAMANARAYAN. On occasion of full moon on August or July devotees will visit to Gosaikund and several other lake like Suryakund, Sarawasti kund, Bhairav kund. Then take a deep into the lake and change the holy string which wear cross the body. Hindus believed god Shiva create the lake by his power then Shiva himself and his concern Gauri had taken bath.

Day 12: Gosaikund to Gopte (3,460 m/11,345 Ft & 7-8 hrs trek)

We leaves early morning from Gosaikund then trek continuous left corner of lake after that gentle climb up on jagged trail with passing other lakes to Laurebina La (4,650 m/15,250 Ft). The ridge offers striking Mountain View from Dhaulagiri, Annapurna region, Manaslu, Ganesh himal and Langtang himalyan range. Now trek drop down on rocky path with pass Phedi and through Bamboo shrubs to Gupte.

Day 13: Trek from Gopte to Magnigoath (2,800 m/9,184 Ft & 6-7 hrs trek)

From guesthouse the trail uphill into the dense forest and green shrubs to Tharepati, we will see great view of Helambu valley and green landscapes with villages on the hill. Again trek down into the forest to Magnigoath.

Day 15: Parti Bhanjyang to Kathmandu & (6-7 hrs trek)

The trail ascend up through out tamang village to Chisopani. We will see superb Himalayan view and wider green valley then trek continuous inside the youngest Shivapuri Nagarjun national park of Nepal. While descending get perfect view of Kathmandu valley with colorful house then pass Mulkharka village to Sundarijal. From Sundarijal 1hrs drive to Thamel.

Day 16: Departure

Here we come to the end of our memorable a weeklong Himalayan trip. We transferred to international airport according to your flight schedule then onward journey to home.
