Hindus believed Gosaikunda Lake is abode of Lord Shiva and Gauri. Thousands of pilgrims visit sacred Gosaikund Lake during a full-moon festival in August. From month of December to February Lake is on frozen form and rest of other month is sparking.

Helambu Gosaikund Lake Trekking starts after day drive from Kathmandu to Dunche. Then rapidly climbing up through out in the forest and yak pasture, where often see wild animals and species of bird including wild board, Red panda, deer, monkey, pheasant, Himalayan monal, jungle chicken etc. The ridge, Lauribinayak, Nama Buddha offers spectacular view of Himalayas with massive Langtang valley.
